For several years now, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre has collaborated with local university theater talents to stage some of its shows. It's pulling that trick again for a new production of Ken Ludwig's farce "Lend Me a Tenor."

MCT artistic poobah C. Michael Wright directs this comedy of romantic turbulence, one too many Othellos and a note misunderstood by everyone. Steven M. Koehler (as Tito the tenor), Rána Roman (Tito's jealous wife) and Rick Pendzich (Max, the put-upon opera-house assistant) are among the pro actors in the cast.

Marquette theater students Hannah Klapperich-Mueller and Peter Sisto will make their big stage debut in this production, with Marquette theater professor Debra Krajec designing the costumes.

In a reflection of how well MCT's collaborations have worked, Alexandra Bonesho, who acted in the MCT's "The Lion in Winter" while still a Marquette student, is performing in this production as a pro.

After a 7:30 p.m. preview Thursday, "Lend Me a Tenor" opens with an 8 p.m. show Friday and runs through April 27 at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway. Tickets are $15 to $40 at the Milwaukee Chamber Theatre website and (414) 291-7800.
