ABOUT MILWAUKEE CHAMBER THEATRE
Founded in 1975, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre (MCT) is one of
Milwaukee's oldest professional non-profit theatre companies. MCT
produces five main stage shows each season at the Broadway Theatre
Center in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.
Mission: Milwaukee Chamber Theatre produces intimate,
high-quality, professional theatrical works of literary merit that
engage and challenge the audience, while employing and nurturing
principally local theatre artists.
- Our plays pay tribute to great literature (great writing, great
words, great stories)…with a focus on the power of the words.
- We produce intimate, accessible live theatre experiences.
- We nurture local talent including students, young actors,
designers, directors & playwrights…the next generation of
theatre artists.
MCT's 2012-2013 SEASON - "Rebels: Pushing Against
the Boundaries"
A Thousand Clowns by Herb Gardner,
August
9-26, 2012
The play tells the story of Murray
Burns, a cheerful eccentric raising his nephew, a twelve-year- old
genius, in New York City. Murray believes in living life fully,
even if that means going to the movies instead of looking for a
job. When social workers from the Bureau of Child Welfare come to
investigate, he must decide whether to accept some level of
conformity in order to show himself a fit guardian.
